As CA students, apart from the goal of prefixing the two words 'C' and 'A' in front of their names, one thing that remains more or less common is to present the paper in one of the ICAI conferences.
Even though various national and mega conferences keep happening throughout the year offering a ton of opportunities to various CA students to speak in front of 1000+ students and network with CAs and CA students, a lot of students are still not aware as to how to get selected as a paper presenter.
To those who are still wondering- Yes, anyone can get selected to present paper in ICAI conferences, provided you submit your papers ofcourse :P (subject to the conditions of the organising branch). All you have to do is go through the following:-
Question 1: How do I know what conferences/ events are going to be held in the coming months?
Answer 1: Well, there are a lot of sources through which one can get to know this. ICAI sends email and text messages on registered email address and phone numbers of students, apprising them of the events that are going to happen in different cities in the coming months. But sometimes you might not receive the mail or text message due to any XYZ reasons and then it is too late to submit your papers (if you wish to present your paper and not just attend the conference). So, it is better that you keep a check on the BoS Activity portal which can be accessed at
https://bosactivities.icai.org/. This portal keeps on updating the upcoming events in different cities.
Question 2: We have got to know about the portal, we will get to know about the conferences now but the question still remains- how do we get selected as a paper presenter?
Answer 2: Once you see a conference listed on the portal, you can go to the description of the conference on the portal itself- therein you will see a list of topics for which the organising branch is inviting papers. Additionally. the selection criteria differs from one branch to another- sometimes a branch invite just papers, sometimes they want paper and a video and sometimes paper, video and powerpoint presentation all of them together.
In order to avoid the last minute surprises it is best that you check the requirements beforehand and in case the requirements are not listed you can contact the organising committee through email or phone number mentioned on the portal.
I hope above would have given you a fair idea on how to submit your papers for getting selected as a paper presenter. In case of any other question, you know whom to contact :')
